ANN ARBOR, MI – Hobbs+Black Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Thomas (TJ) Chasty to Vice President of the Phoenix, AZ office, as of April 29, 2016. TJ first joined Hobbs+Black in 2004 and worked in the Ann Arbor office for 7 years, before volunteering to move to Arizona to help expand Hobbs+Black’s Phoenix office in 2011. TJ’s management of projects, and his understanding of contractual and code requirements coupled with a personable demeanor wins him the trust and respect of clients and coworkers alike. TJ has distinguished himself through his dedication, his service to his clients, and his long-term commitment to excellent work.
Since being promoted to Associate Vice President in 2014, TJ has been the project manager or project architect on a variety of projects, large and small, and supervised project teams and consultants successfully. TJ was an instrumental component of the Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Orthopaedic and Surgical Tower. Currently he is Project Manager for the following: Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) ED/Lab Expansion, Sante at Westgate, and TMC Women’s Center Addition. During his years in the Ann Arbor office, he also worked on notable projects such as Mercy Memorial Hospital (Monroe), Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) Columbus Center, HFHS West Bloomfield Mainstreet, and City Creek Center.
In addition to the preceding, TJ has mentored numerous interns here at Hobbs+Black, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Central Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineering.
