Ypsilanti, Michigan

Michigan Medicine expanded its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare by enhancing services in the Ypsilanti community. A comprehensive program was implemented to broaden the offerings at the Michigan Medicine Ypsilanti Health Center, including expanded primary care and specialty clinics in cardiology, pediatrics, pediatric developmental care, podiatry, and laboratory services (MLabs). The initiative repurposed the former Eastern Michigan University Business School into a six-level facility that housed clinical services, incubator lab programs, new receiving and storage areas, and improvements to the adjacent parking structure and courtyard.

Additionally, the project included the renovation of a specialized behavioral health center tailored for adolescents transitioning from inpatient psychiatric care. This facility provided a structured, short-term environment with access to outpatient services, including therapy rooms, activity spaces, administrative offices, and a secure therapeutic courtyard—all thoughtfully designed to foster healing, safety, and a sense of normalcy for young patients.
