AIA Detroit’s annual Celebration of Architecture recently took place with over 1,000 architects and allied industry associates in attendance. There was a tremendous amount of excitement in the air for this wonderful celebration of architecture. After the awards ceremony, the event was opened to the public, where thousands more were able to view displays by architectural firms and other building industry organizations as well as the Building Award entries.  The event was held in conjunction with Eastern Market after Dark, as a part of the Detroit Month of Design organized by Design Core Detroit.  The celebration honors Detroit’s designation as a UNESCO City of Design.

Here is what a few of the Hobbs+Black attendees had to say about the event:

“ I am so grateful to have been a part of this amazing event. The energy was magnificent. I was delighted and invigorated to see such a diverse group come together in a strong show of support.”

- Betsy Hobbs Wagner

“Congratulations to AIA Detroit for another great outreach event, where members of the design community can gather, network, and enjoy a great time.  The display of architecture and architecture-related activities reminds the community of the great work being produced by the talent right here in Detroit."

- Bob Hoida

“A lively event that displayed a diverse range of architecture and design.”

- Amina Ahmed

We appreciate AIA Detroit and the many players that made this event possible and look forward to next year’s celebration September 19, 2019!
